Webinar: Why do wind energy projects fail?

The enduring effects of process and distributional unfairness , presented by our Director of Climate Change and Energy Solutions

Our director of climate solutions shares the results of our year-long case study into the factors influencing community acceptance of renewable energy.

In this webinar, learn how a lack of trust, fairness, and community benefits combined to undermine community acceptance of two wind energy projects proposed for Northern New Brunswick and receive recommendations on how to increase the chances of success for renewable energy projects.

The research presented in this webinar is derived from the results of a year-long case study entitled Why do wind energy projects fail? The enduring effects of process and distributional unfairness, which features interviews with residents of Anse-Bleue and Pokeshaw, N.B., where two wind projects were approved under N.B. Power’s Locally Owned Renewable Energy Projects that are Small Scale (LORESS) Program but which did not proceed due to public opposition.
