A one of a kind handmade mixed media piece that captures a small piece of the forest floor. Created using needle felting techniques and mounted on local New Brunswick shale and finished with dried flowers and moss. Each needle felted piece takes 4-6 hours to complete depending on the size.

Hygrocybe punicea is probably the largest common species of Hygrocybe sp. in North America. Best identified by its dark red, greasy cap, the narrowly attached gills, and its stringy stem.
