A scientific call to action to protect our coastal communities and fisheries

Our Fundy Baykeeper, Matt Abbott, and Gulf of St. Lawrence Fisheries Specialist Anne Fauré called the IPCC’s special report on climate change and the oceans, issued yesterday, an urgent scientific call to action to reduce the carbon pollution that is unbalancing the climate and bringing devastating changes to our oceans and frozen parts of the planet. Nashwaak Watershed Association AGM / blue-green algae presentation – Nov 13
The Nashwaak Watershed Association’s Annual General Meeting takes place at 7 p.m. at The Ville Cooperative in Fredericton. As part of the meeting, Dr. Janice Lawrence of UNB’s biology department will be presenting on cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms in New Brunswick lakes and rivers. The AGM is an excellent opportunity to sign-up or renew your NWAI membership and learn about the work that has been done over the past year and plans for the year ahead.

EOS Eco-Energy Draft-Proofing Work Party
 The Sackville region’s EOS Eco-Energy is gearing up for its annual ‘Draft-Proofing Parties’ and you are invited. The group’s free draft-proofing work parties allow a homeowner and guests to learn how to seal air leaks and work together to draft-proof a home. EOS will bring tools, materials, party food and a certified energy advisor to teach about draft-proofing.
