Recorded Webinar: Improving energy efficiency and living conditions for low-income New Brunswickers
In this webinar, Nicole Alice McKenna (NB Power) and Janet Collins (Department of Social Development) discuss what options are available for New Brunswickers to improve their energy efficiency and living conditions. This webinar is intended to provide information on New Brunswick programs for energy retrofits and living standard upgrades that do not raise the cost of living.
This webinar focuses on two support avenues in particular:
- NB Power: Several energy efficiencies retrofit programs for different income levels and commercial operations.
- Department of Social Development: Through their RRAP (Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program), the Department of Social Development offers assistance to landlords for major repairs to ensure the health and safety of tenants without having to raise rents.
Nicole Alice McKenna (NB Power) joined the NB Power’s Energy Efficiency Services team in 2017 serving as the Program Lead for Low Income and Direct Install programs. Prior to joining NB Power, Nicole worked at WorkSafeNB as the engineer for the Compliance and Regulatory Review group, and before that she was a by-law enforcer for the City of Saint John, managing the Minimum Property Standards By-Law.
Janet Collins (Department of Social Development) is a Provincial Consultant with the Department of Social Development where she has worked in Housing for over 15 years. Janet earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) from the University of New Brunswick.
