Corbett revisits some N.B.’s top environment stories of 2019

With the beginning of the New Year — better yet, a new decade — comes the chance to look back at the past 12 months, take stock of our successes and failures, and make a commitment to do better – especially when it comes to safeguarding the quality of our air and water, preparing our communities for a changing climate, or seeking alternatives to risky, large-scale fossil fuel projects.

With this sentiment in mind, Conservation Council Executive Director Lois Corbett sat down with CBC New Brunswick’s Rachel Cave earlier this month to discuss the biggest New Brunswick environmental stories of 2019, and what to watch out for in the coming months.

The environment stories revisited during this New Year round up (listed in no particular order), include: spring flooding, right whale deaths, the carbon tax,  Hurricane Dorian, Belledune Smelter shuts down, and the Minto tire fire.
