Celebrate World Environment Day with the Great Canadian Video Contest

Calling all young New Brunswickers: celebrate this World Environment Day (June 5) by telling the world how and why you connect with nature.

Canada is the host nation for World Environment Day this year, and the federal government is marking the occasion with the “Great Canadian Video Contest for World Environment Day.”

Youth aged 18-25 are invited to create a short video (under two minutes) on how they connect with nature, protect the environment, and take action on climate change. Two winners will be drawn from all eligible submissions and will join the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, for World Environment Day celebrations in June.

The contest opened on April 22 and is accepting submissions via Twitter using the hashtag #WEDCan. It closes May 19 and the winners will be drawn the following week. Be sure to check out the complete contest details to ensure your submission meets all requirements.

If you decide to be part of this exciting contest, the Conservation Council wants to see your submission! When posting to Twitter, be sure to either use the hashtag #CCNBWED or tag @cc_nb!
