Buy Local this Thanksgiving!

LobsterTurkey.CJVThanksgiving weekend is upon us at last, and folks, have we got some goodies for you!

Last week we asked followers and supporters of the Conservation Council of New Brunswick to send us your favourite holiday recipes. We received some straight-up mouth-watering dishes, many that had staff at Conserver House even more anxious for the big family feast. But the best part? Nearly all of the ingredients required for these delectable doozies can be purchased from the homegrown New Brunswick producers found through our Buy Local NB directory.

To be sure, these recipes stand on their own, but everything tastes better when the ingredients are sourced from companies who live in this province, love what they do, and care about providing quality products to the people of New Brunswick.

Check out our extensive directory to find a local producer near you and use their wholesome products to create a meal you can truly be thankful for this weekend.

Click on the recipes below to get the full details on how to make them, but first – and we’ve been keeping this one under our hats – take a look at our featured recipe graciously provided to us by Saint John’s own celebrity chef Jesse Vergen. His offering (shown above) tastes every bit as delicious as it looks, and can you think of a more Maritime-sounding Thanksgiving dish?  We sure can’t.

A special thanks to Jesse and everyone who submitted recipe ideas. Now … let’s eat!
