Corbett quoted in Bruce Livesey’s new series on Premier Higgs, the Irvings, and politics in N.B.

The Conservation Council’s Executive Director, Lois Corbett, spoke with journalist Bruce Livesey for his new National Observer series, The man from Irving, a three-part series about Premier Blaine Higgs, the Irvings and the politics of New Brunswick.

Corbett told Livesey that Premier Higgs “hitched his horse to the wrong wagon” in aligning himself with the fossil fuel industry and other premiers challenging the federal government’s climate change agenda.

“In this decade of serious action reducing carbon pollution, Higgs should be aligning himself with New York state’s governor, and Maine’s governor and California’s governor — people who had some real experience in reducing pollution and creating jobs in energy efficiency and helping folks get solar panels on the roof,” Corbett said.
