The Green Woman or Mother Nature is a combination of a couple of disciplines; woodcarving and Pyrography art. I have combined them together with an African style of carving which I learned in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa. I was deployed with the CAF attached to the UK Army back in 2001 and lived on the land for many months interacting with the artisans of the country. Mother Nature is seen as the guardian of our planet earth. This image represents how we see Mother Nature as part human and part earth or plant. That way, we can understand our connection and our responsibilities when it comes to taking care of our planet and our home.
