f\u00e9d\u00e9ral \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre un r\u00e8glement solide et efficace sur l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 propre qui prot\u00e8ge notre plan\u00e8te, nos communaut\u00e9s et notre porte-monnaie.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral publiera sous peu une nouvelle s\u00e9rie de r\u00e8gles visant \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler les gaz \u00e0 effet de serre du secteur de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine du r\u00e9chauffement plan\u00e9taire. Le syst\u00e8me de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 du Canada est d\u00e9j\u00e0 moins polluant qu\u2019auparavant gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des r\u00e8glements visant \u00e0 \u00e9liminer l\u2019utilisation du charbon et notre d\u00e9pendance envers l\u2019hydro-\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. <\/span><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>Il est maintenant temps de finir ce travail.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le r\u00e8glement sur l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 propre (REP), pr\u00e9vu ce printemps, doit permettre au Canada de franchir la ligne d\u2019arriv\u00e9e en accueillant des sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie non \u00e9mettrices comme les \u00e9nergies \u00e9olienne, solaire et hydro-\u00e9lectrique et en abandonnant les combustibles fossiles au plus tard en 2035.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si ces r\u00e8glements sont judicieusement \u00e9labor\u00e9s, les Canadiens b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront d\u2019un syst\u00e8me d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 plus sain, plus abordable et plus fiable pour les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. <\/span><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>C\u2019est l\u00e0 que vous entrez en jeu.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nous avons besoin d\u2019amplifier notre appel pour un <\/span><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>r\u00e8glement solide<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire l\u2019abandon des <\/span><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>extensions ou des \u00e9chappatoires <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pour les entreprises fond\u00e9es sur les combustibles fossiles et de la combustion de n\u2019importe quoi pour produire de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, et <span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><strong>l\u2019introduction d\u2019aides financi\u00e8res aux gens<\/strong><\/span> afin d\u2019assurer une transition en douceur stable et \u00e9quitable pour tous.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element entreprises de fracturation du gaz de schiste, le nettoyage de notre syst\u00e8me \u00e9lectrique sera trop cher pour les N\u00e9o-Brunswickois.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> En fait, ces intervenants essaient d\u2019affaiblir le r\u00e8glement pour conserver le gaz extrait par fracturation dans le syst\u00e8me.\u00a0 Le premier ministre Higgs fait pression sur des groupes autochtones pour les inciter \u00e0 accepter le d\u00e9veloppement du gaz extrait par fracturation sur leur terrain en all\u00e9guant qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019une\u00a0 solution pour \u00e9liminer le charbon de la centrale de Belledune et le p\u00e9trole lourd de l\u2019usine de Coleson Cove. <\/span><b><span style=\"color: #04466a;\">Nous ne pouvons pas laisser cela se produire.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>C\u2019est du changement climatique, et non pas du REP, que nous devons r\u00e9ellement nous pr\u00e9occuper. <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le changement climatique nous co\u00fbte d\u00e9j\u00e0 cher, et plus nous polluons et laissons les temp\u00e9ratures augmenter, plus cela nous co\u00fbtera cher : perturbation de nos modes de production alimentaire, destruction de nos maisons, de nos entreprises et de nos routes, apparitions de nouveaux fl\u00e9aux (pensez maladie de Lyme), obligation de se clo\u00eetrer \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur (pensez journ\u00e9es d\u00e9plaisantes \u00e0 plus de 30+ degr\u00e9s et vagues de chaleur) et destruction de merveilleux espaces (pensez dunes de sable balay\u00e9es par Fiona, inondations de camps aux abords du Grand lac ou de la rivi\u00e8re Kennebecasis ou d\u00e9racinement de pr\u00e9cieux arbres par l\u2019ouragan Arthur).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>En agissant sur le changement climatique, nous rendons la vie abordable.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Nous pouvons avoir un REP solide et efficace qui soit abordable pour les N\u00e9o-Brunswickois et les Canadiens. Pour ce faire, il faut veiller \u00e0 ce que le r\u00e8glement soit accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019une d\u00e9pense acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e ax\u00e9e sur la r\u00e9novation \u00e9conerg\u00e9tique des maisons et des entreprises, et d\u2019investissements dans des \u00e9nergies renouvelables rentables. <\/span><span style=\"color: #04466a;\"><b>Faisons-le, (CER) in Canada. The regulation must ensure Canada reaches a 100 per cent zero-emitting electricity system no later than 2035. Achieving this goal requires a regulation with no extensions or loopholes.\n\nThe world\u2019s top climate scientists\u2019 recent report (2023 IPCC Synthesis) makes it clear that we need deep emissions cuts of planet-warming gases this decade to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, or we risk climate catastrophe and immense human suffering.\n\nThe Clean Electricity Regulation must spur the transition to 100 per cent zero-emitting electricity by 2035 by expanding our reliance on efficiency, wind, solar, storage and interties. As a New Brunswick citizen concerned about climate change, I want a clean electricity regulation framework that does not lead to the development of shale gas in our province or encourages the use of biomass generated today primarily from clearcuts. Neither solution is consistent with staying within the global carbon budget and doing our fair share for climate action.\n\nWe need a strong federal signal to encourage New Brunswick to shift to reliable, affordable renewable energy in the near-term that generates no emissions to generate electricity or that requires extensions awaiting experimental small modular nuclear reactors. I am counting on you to stand firm against premiers, utilities, and fossil fuel suppliers who are lobbying to undermine the clean electricity regulation. We can avoid loopholes if we:\n\t\u2022 Ensure electricity transition is affordable: Develop a national energy affordability and energy poverty strategy to ensure low- and moderate-income households have funding to retrofit homes, lower energy consumption and get into electric vehicles. \n\t\u2022 Prioritize proven, affordable technologies like wind, solar, energy storage, and improved transmission: Avoid extensions, exemptions, and loopholes for fossil fuel electricity, prohibit new fossil fuel electricity generation, fully expose the electricity sector to carbon pricing, and redirect public funds from fossil fuel generation with carbon capture and storage to renewable electricity.\n\t\u2022 Respect Indigenous rights and title: Ensure the free, prior, and informed consent of Indigenous communities, upholding their rights and providing ownership and participation pathways.\n\t\u2022 Collaborate: Adopt a whole-system approach, evolving electricity system governance to support renewables and interprovincial collaboration.\n\t\u2022 Prepare the workforce: Develop and fund training and retraining programs for renewable electricity generation, energy efficiency, and electrification.\n\nElectricity transformation is a national project I support.
