{"id":185903,"date":"2022-08-04T13:55:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-04T16:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.conservationcouncil.ca\/des-organismes-environnementaux-demandent-au-gouvernement-federal-de-rejeter-les-projets-dinstallations-dexportation-de-gnl-sur-la-cote-est\/"},"modified":"2022-08-05T14:25:34","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T17:25:34","slug":"des-organismes-environnementaux-demandent-au-gouvernement-federal-de-rejeter-les-projets-dinstallations-dexportation-de-gnl-sur-la-cote-est","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.conservationcouncil.ca\/fr\/des-organismes-environnementaux-demandent-au-gouvernement-federal-de-rejeter-les-projets-dinstallations-dexportation-de-gnl-sur-la-cote-est\/","title":{"rendered":"Des organismes environnementaux demandent au gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de rejeter les projets d\u2019installations d\u2019exportation de GNL sur la c\u00f4te Est"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"185903\" class=\"elementor elementor-185903 elementor-185892\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-d204583 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"d204583\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-18e599b\" data-id=\"18e599b\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3720662 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3720662\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 l\u2019approche de la visite du chancelier allemand Olaf Scholz au Canada en ao\u00fbt pour discuter d\u2019un accord potentiel sur le gaz naturel liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 (GNL), des organismes environnementaux repr\u00e9sentant des millions de Canadien(ne)s lancent l\u2019initiative <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stopthegas.ca\/fr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stoppons le Gaz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dans laquelle ils demandent au gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de rejeter tout projet d\u2019exportation de gaz sur la c\u00f4te Est en raison des risques climatiques et \u00e9conomiques.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab\u00a0En d\u00e9pit de ce que veut faire croire l\u2019industrie des \u00e9nergies fossiles, les projets d\u2019exportation de gaz ne repr\u00e9sentent absolument pas une solution \u00e0 la situation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique en Europe caus\u00e9e par la guerre en Ukraine, puisque les besoins \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques de l\u2019Europe seront en grande partie r\u00e9solus des ann\u00e9es avant que toute nouvelle infrastructure canadienne de GNL soit op\u00e9rationnelle \u00bb, d\u00e9clare le porte-parole d\u2019\u00c9quiterre<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9mile Boisseau-Bouvier.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plusieurs projets sont envisag\u00e9s dont deux, le projet Goldboro LNG de Pieridae Energy et le projet Saint\u00a0John LNG de Repsol, qui pourraient entra\u00eener une augmentation des volumes de gaz transitant dans le r\u00e9seau de <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gazoductqm.com\/fr\/pdf\/22-TQM-System-Map-Carte-Sep-2014.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gazoduc TQM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> qui <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/environnement\/730899\/exportation-de-gaz-naturel-porte-ouverte-a-l-exportation-de-gaz-naturel-dans-l-est-du-canada\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">traverse le sud du Qu\u00e9bec<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Pas d\u2019acceptabilit\u00e9 sociale au Qu\u00e9bec<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab\u00a0La population du Qu\u00e9bec s\u2019opposera fermement \u00e0 toute proposition visant \u00e0 faire transiter davantage de gaz fossile dans la province, alors que les scientifiques du monde entier exhortent les gouvernements \u00e0 accro\u00eetre les \u00e9nergies renouvelables et non \u00e0 investir \u00e0 long terme dans de nouvelles infrastructures de combustibles fossiles, qui mettent notre s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en p\u00e9ril \u00bb, ajoute \u00c9mile Boisseau-Bouvier. En effet, un r\u00e9cent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www-sierraclub-ca.translate.goog\/en\/media\/2022-06-30\/new-poll-canadians-believe-climate-impacts-should-be-deciding-factor-whether-or-not?_x_tr_sl=en&amp;_x_tr_tl=fr&amp;_x_tr_hl=en-US&amp;_x_tr_pto=wapp\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sondage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> d\u2019Abacus Data r\u00e9v\u00e8le que la population du Qu\u00e9bec est la plus susceptible au Canada de s&rsquo;opposer \u00e0 de nouvelles installations d\u2019exportation de gaz sur la c\u00f4te Est en raison de leurs pr\u00e9occupations climatiques.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En avril, le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec a adopt\u00e9 une loi historique <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equiterre.org\/fr\/articles\/le-quebec-enfin-protege-legalement-contre-lindustrie-des-energies-fossiles\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interdisant l\u2019exploration et la production de combustibles fossiles<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sur son territoire. De plus, \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une opposition publique massive, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equiterre.org\/fr\/articles\/communique-rejet-de-gnl-quebec-une-autre-immense-victoire-contre-lindustrie-fossille\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec a rejet\u00e9 l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re le projet GNL Qu\u00e9bec<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> parce que ce projet n\u2019avait pas gagn\u00e9 l\u2019acceptabilit\u00e9 sociale et il aurait \u00e0 la fois augment\u00e9 les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre (GES) ainsi que frein\u00e9 la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Les effets de nouvelles installations d\u2019exportation de gaz sur la c\u00f4te Est<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les projets gaziers propos\u00e9s augmenteraient les \u00e9missions de GES :<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une version pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente du projet Goldboro de Pieridae Energy aurait ajout\u00e9 <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saltwire.com\/halifax\/opinion\/local-perspectives\/larry-hughes-lng-plant-would-blow-a-hole-through-nova-scotias-emissions-ceiling-509367\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3,7\u00a0m\u00e9gatonnes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de GES par ann\u00e9e, soit l\u2019\u00e9quivalent de la combustion de 1,8 millions de tonnes de charbon, ce qui aurait entra\u00een\u00e9 un d\u00e9passement d\u2019un tiers de la limite de carbone de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse. <\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On estime que le projet de Repsol g\u00e9n\u00e9rerait au moins 1,2\u00a0m\u00e9gatonne de GES par an, soit l\u2019\u00e9quivalent de la combustion de plus de 816 000 tonnes de charbon, ce qui signifierait que l\u2019objectif climatique du Nouveau-Brunswick deviendrait<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noshalegasnb.ca\/climate-goals-cant-be-met-if-n-b-expands-gas-production\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">impossible<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00e0 atteindre.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">Aussi, aucun de ces chiffres ne comprend les \u00e9missions produites lors de la combustion du gaz \u2013 l\u00e0 o\u00f9 la grande majorit\u00e9 des \u00e9missions sont g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b>L\u2019initiative <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stopthegas.ca\/fr\"><b>Stoppons le Gaz<\/b><\/a><b> est soutenue par de nombreux organismes\u00a0: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Association canadienne des m\u00e9decins pour l\u2019environnement (ACME), Conseil de conservation du Nouveau-Brunswick, Climate Emergency Unit, Ecology Action Centre, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9quiterre, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Environmental Defence, Fondation Sierra Club Canada, LeadNow, l\u2019Alliance anti-gaz de schiste du Nouveau-Brunswick, No Frac (Nova Scotia Fracking Resource and Action Coalition), R\u00e9seau action climat Canada, Stand.earth et
