Betts et son \u00e9quipe internationale de chercheurs ont r\u00e9\u00e9tudi\u00e9 les r\u00e9percussions des op\u00e9rations foresti\u00e8res sur les populations aviaires dans la for\u00eat acadienne du Nouveau-Brunswick entre 1985 et 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voici la constatation principale\u00a0: les coupes \u00e0 blanc de for\u00eats mixtes naturelles et leur remplacement par des plantations de r\u00e9sineux en monoculture a consid\u00e9rablement d\u00e9grad\u00e9 l\u2019habitat de 66\u00a0% des oiseaux qui vivent dans les zones bois\u00e9es du Nouveau-Brunswick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certaines esp\u00e8ces ont connu un d\u00e9clin sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 30\u00a0% au cours de la derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cennie, r\u00e9pondant donc au crit\u00e8re d\u2019esp\u00e8ces en menac\u00e9es en vertu des lois canadiennes sur les populations en voie de disparition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parmi les oiseaux particuli\u00e8rement affect\u00e9s par les op\u00e9rations foresti\u00e8res, il faut mentionner le Pioui de l\u2019Est et la Moucherolle \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9s olive, deux esp\u00e8ces identifi\u00e9es comme menac\u00e9es d\u2019extinction en vertu de la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Loi sur les esp\u00e8ces en p\u00e9ril<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> du Nouveau-Brunswick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M. Betts estime que la disparition d\u2019habitats forestiers a entra\u00een\u00e9 la perte d\u2019environ 33 \u00e0 104 millions d\u2019oiseaux au Nouveau-Brunswick au cours des 35 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Plus de 3 millions d\u2019hectares de la for\u00eat acadienne ont subi des coupes \u00e0 blanc au cours de cette p\u00e9riode et une bonne partie de cette superficie est maintenant domin\u00e9e par une seule essence d\u2019arbres.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-04412bc elementor-blockquote--skin-quotation elementor-blockquote--align-left elementor-blockquote--button-skin-bubble elementor-blockquote--button-view-icon-text elementor-blockquote--button-color-official elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"04412bc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tNos r\u00e9sultats indiquent un d\u00e9clin \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle des oiseaux forestiers de la for\u00eat acadienne, et pour la plupart des esp\u00e8ces, l'abondance est fortement associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la quantit\u00e9 d'habitat.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-q-footer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<cite class=\"elementor-blockquote__author\">M. soutenu que la sylviculture intelligente et l\u2019am\u00e9nagement forestier doivent remplacer les coupes \u00e0 blanc \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle et l\u2019usage des herbicides dans les for\u00eats combinaison de zones de foresterie \u00e9cologique et de nouvelles aires naturelles prot\u00e9g\u00e9es pour garantir que le reste des bois\u00e9s de feuillus et des for\u00eats mixtes du Nouveau-Brunswick ne soit pas transform\u00e9 en plantations de r\u00e9sineux\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lois Corbett, directrice ex\u00e9cutive du Conseil de
