Alors, pourquoi ne pas couvrir nos arri\u00e8res en acc\u00e9l\u00e9rant les investissements dans ce que l\u2019ICCC appelle des \u00ab\u00a0valeurs s\u00fbres\u00a0\u00bb? Actuellement, il n\u2019y a qu\u2019un seul PRM op\u00e9rationnel. D\u00e9crit comme un \u00ab\u00a0prototype fonctionnel\u00a0\u00bb, ce r\u00e9acteur se trouve sur une barge en <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Russie<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Il a fallu plus d\u2019une d\u00e9cennie de plus que ce qui \u00e9tait initialement pr\u00e9vu pour produire ce prototype, et on a observ\u00e9 des retards similaires dans le cadre de projets exp\u00e9rimentaux d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s en <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energycentral.com\/c\/ec\/argentina-plans-revive-carem-25-smr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Argentine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et au <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greentechmedia.com\/articles\/read\/rolls-royce-awaits-government-cash-to-start-smr-project#:~:text=Full%20development%20of%20the%20SMR,1.5%20billion%2C%20Orr%20told%20GTM\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">R.-U.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> D\u2019autres projets progressent, lentement, aux <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powermag.com\/nuscale-uamps-kick-off-idaho-smr-nuclear-plant-licensing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9.-U<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bien que les promoteurs commercialisent les PRM en les faisant passer pour une solution de rechange aux grandes centrales nucl\u00e9aires, ces r\u00e9acteurs produisent tout de m\u00eame de grandes quantit\u00e9s de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrc.gov\/reading-rm\/doc-collections\/fact-sheets\/radwaste.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d\u00e9chets radioactifs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dangereux. Pour lutter contre le changement climatique et conserver l\u2019objectif plan\u00e9taire d\u2019un r\u00e9chauffement maximal de 1,5\u00b0C, le Nouveau-Brunswick doit \u00e9liminer les combustibles fossiles de la production d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 d\u2019ici \u00e0 2030, au plus tard.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En attendant, les \u00e9nergies <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrcan.gc.ca\/sites\/www.nrcan.gc.ca\/files\/canmetenergy\/pdf\/fichier\/81770\/windtrm_resource_map.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00e9olienne<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrcan.gc.ca\/energy-efficiency\/data-research-insights-energy-ef\/buildings-innovation\/solar-photovoltaic-energy-buildi\/resources\/photovoltaic-potential-and-solar-resource-maps-canada\/18366\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">solaire<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scorecard.efficiencycanada.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sont des technologies \u00e9prouv\u00e9es au c\u0153ur de centaines de projets men\u00e9s \u00e0 toutes les toutes \u00e9chelles, pour toutes sortes d\u2019applications et dans toutes les r\u00e9gions du Canada. Actuellement, les \u00e9nergies solaire et \u00e9olienne sont <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lazard.com\/perspective\/levelized-cost-of-energy-and-levelized-cost-of-storage-2020\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">les formes d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 les plus abordables <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de la Terre. Cinq fois moins ch\u00e8res que le charbon, cinq fois moins ch\u00e8res que l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire traditionnelle et trois fois moins ch\u00e8res que le gaz naturel.*\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bien qu\u2019il faille associer de grandes quantit\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9nergies \u00e9olienne et solaire \u00e0 des ressources et des technologies d\u2019appoint, ces solutions existent d\u00e9j\u00e0. Des moyens de transmission avec nos voisins qui <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/climatechoices.ca\/loop-dreams\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utilisent de l\u2019\u00e9nergie hydro-\u00e9lectrique<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, et des technologies d\u2019entreposage de plus en plus rentables existent d\u00e9j\u00e0 ou presque. <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
