In July, rhubarb is coming to an end, however strawberries and gooseberries are ready to be picked. Delicious New Brunswick blueberries can be harvested between mid-August and mid-September. What’s better in this hot summer weather than a homemade fruit pie or crumble with a scoop of ice cream!? Moxon’s Country Pumpkin in Maugerville has fresh homemade pies and baked goods made with local produce!

July is also a great time of year for family barbeques. Corn makes a great addition to any BBQ meal this summer, and fresh local tomatoes and spinach are perfect toppings for a burger! Also in season are green beans and carrots which are great for pickling, zucchini, peas perfect for freezing to have all year round, kale, green onion, garlic, and much more. Check out what’s in season each month, here on our BuyLocalNB website. Want to know where the closest u-pick or farmers market is to you? Search our directory.
