The Panel’s priority is to engage and consult with Canadians about new environmental assessment process for the country. The panel and will be touring New Brunswick in October with a first stop in Fredericton on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

To get ready for the Panel, the Conservation Council hosted Anna Johnston, staff counsel for West Coast Environmental Law (WCEL) , on Oct. 3. She shared 12 pillars of a “next generation” of Canadian environmental assessment as well as tips on how to participate in the panel and workshop.

The Panel will be looking for what the public sees as problems with the environmental assessment process in Canada and wants to hear ideas for better approaches.
