“They will treasure more and protect more”: Corbett on new Swim Guide app

Our Executive Director, Lois Corbett, spoke to Moncton’s 91.9 The Bend radio station about the new Swim Guide app, out now.

The new version of the Swim Guide app provides beach-lovers with all kinds of information about beaches at home and abroad, such as directions, amenities nearby, if lifeguards are present, and the state of water quality at the beach.

“We feel quite strongly that if people have quick and direct access, that they will not only get out and swim more, but they will also treasure more and protect more,” Lois told The Bend in an article published Monday, July 10.

Swim Guide was created by Swim Drink Fish Canada in collaboration with Waterkeepers across Canada, including the Conservation Council. The Council maintains the information on the app for More than a dozen recreational swimming sites throughout New Brunswick. You can download the app here.

The latest version of the app is available in English, French and Spanish and it has over a million users across the world.
